The Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad for Primary Schools (APMOPS), organised by Hwa Chong Institution, is an annual event that sets out to generate greater interest in Mathematics among students in primary schools and sharpening their problem-solving skills.

National Mathematical Olympiad of Singapore
The National Mathematical Olympiad of Singapore ( NMO∑ ) is an NUS High School initiative, working in partnership with the Singapore Mathematical Society. It aims to generate greater interest in Mathematics among Primary school students, cultivate enthusiasm and instil a love for Mathematics among the students. At the same time, it provides an avenue to challenge and stretch students’ mathematical potential and nurture mathematical talents in our youths.

Primary Mathematics Project Competition
The Primary Mathematics Project Competition (PMPC) is jointly organised by the Gifted Education Branch (GEB) and the NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (NUSHS). It aims to provide opportunities for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom and apply Mathematics in daily life. It also aims to encourage students to carry out innovative and creative work in Mathematics.

Singapore Youth Science Fair
Singapore Youth Science Fair (SYSF) is designed to promote Science education since 2014. SYSF is sponsored by Abbott Laboratories, co-organised by the Science Teachers Association of Singapore and Science Centre Singapore. SYSF aims to promote scientific study through investigative-type projects in Science. It encourages the use of creative and innovative methods in problem solving, heighten students’ awareness and generate their interest in Science research and technology development.

Singapore Primary Science Olympiad
Singapore Primary Science Olympiad (SPSO) is an annual national competition organized by the NUS High School of Mathematics and Science since 2009. SPSO aims to promote active interest in Science among primary school students. This competition provides an avenue for showcasing the abilities of our nation’s young scientific minds and seeks to nurture young science talents. It also serves as the first round of selection for the National Science Team that represents Singapore in the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO).
The competition is pitched at the Primary School Science Syllabus. General science ability, knowledge, analytical and comprehension skills may also be tested.

Raffles Science Olympiad
Raffles Science Olympiad (RSO) is an annual national competition organised by Raffles Institution. RSO aims to provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of Science, engender in students a sense of wonder towards Science and to foster positive values, skills and attitudes in Science, such as creative and critical thinking, integrity and objectivity.
RSO includes subjects like Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Most of the questions are pitched at the Lower Secondary Science level, with a few questions pitched at the GCE ‘O’ level. Participants may also be tested on their general knowledge in Science.

Junior Science Whiz Challenge
The Junior Science Whiz Challenge (JSWC) is jointly organised by West Zone Centre of Excellence and Technology (WZCOE) @ River Valley High School and RV Science Leaders Academy. JSWC is a competition that aims to develop primary school students’ passion and interest in science. Participants are tested on general science knowledge, including those beyond the Primary School Science curriculum.
JSWC is guided by different themes every year. It seeks to allow participants to explore the science behind the daily phenomena and real-life applications that shaped our modern world, especially in the areas of Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Participants get to appreciate the applications of science today as well as its potential. JSWC aims to help participants further their interest in various scientific disciplines.

TJC e-Think
Temasek Junior College (TJC) THINK© Challenge is an annual Science competition for primary schools. Since 2008, the THINK© Challenge has exposed hundreds of students to the THINK© Cycle. THINK© is an acronym for the 5 distinct learning phases of science: Trigger, Harness, Investigate, Network and Know – a pedagogical approach pioneered by TJC that infuses problem-based learning and scientific inquiry with a focus on collaboration.
