Skills and drills, balancing with flair, leaping with a dancer's grace - this is gymnastics! Gymnastics has been a niche sport of the school since 2007. It is under our PSE scheme, which receives its annual funding from MOE, allowing the school to offer a broad-based gymnastics programme to lower primary pupils.
Gymnastics is a sport involving the performance of exercises requiring physical strength, flexibility, power, agility, coordination, and balance. It is a sport that requires strength to be able to perform and execute certain action for certain events.
Members will go through physical training to strengthen their body. More physically ready pupils will be moving toward the routine to be performed on the equipment.
For girls, they are trained to execute routine for these events: Vault, Balance Beam, Floor Exercise and Uneven Bars.
For C’ division Boys, they are trained to execute routine for these events: Vault, Floor Exercise and Mushroom.
For B’ division Boys, they are trained to execute routine for these events: Vault, Floor Exercise and Pommel Horse. If they are physically more ready, the B’ Division boys may be trained on Rings, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bars.
Every year, our school gymnasts participate and win honours in various events at the National Inter-School Artistic Gymnastics Competition. Gymnasts are put through a 9 months training programme yearly to prepare them for National Inter-School Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Students may be involved in school performances too.
The indoor sports hall has been used as the training ground since 2009. Get an eagle grip. Flip! Remember - your centre of gravity! Keep it tight!
